Old School

Jae, Liesl, and Jason Composers throughout history have looked to their predecessors for training and a solid foundation, but also as points of departure for flights of inspiration. Michael Tippett is a perfect example, and his Fantasia Concertante takes Corelli to undreamt-of new places. Golijov, the ultimate musical omnivore, pulls upon musical traditions near and far in his Three Songs, for which A Far Cry is joined by the lustrous soprano Margot Rood.
