Remember back in February, when A Far Cry played Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings by memory on 18 of the finest instruments in the world? Not only do we think about it all the time (like, ALL THE TIME), but we partnered up with the incredible Ball Square Films to document the process, inviting you “backstage” with us to relive the magic of that incredible evening. We are so proud to present Ball Square Films’ mini documentary, A Stradivari Serenade!
In this film, we follow the Criers to Christopher Reuning’s shop Reuning & Son Violins, where the musicians try out instruments crafted by the likes of Stradivari, Guarneri, and Amati to decide what they’ll be playing on concert day. We can’t wait to share the joy, humor, and awe-inspiring moments of this adventure paired with some of our favorite snippets on stage and behind the scenes from the concert. To round out this special presentation, we conclude with an artfully captured, breathtaking shot of the Criers performing the entire first movement of Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings on these extraordinary instruments.
