AFC violinist Omar Chen Güey and his wife, pianist Lin Guey, perform music centered around the Brazilian soul featuring works of composer Raimundo Penaforte. Program will include Mr. Penaforte’s beautiful “Elegie,” his arrangement of the Brazilian classic Carinhoso by Pixinguinha, his “Hommage à Joaquin” based on a theme by Joaquin Rodrigo and a dazzling arrangement of Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story, plus a few additional surprise pieces. Mr. Penaforte will be present to discuss his works. This event is presented in partnership with A Far Cry.
