Featuring Krista River, mezzo-soprano
A program that begins at the end, Sunset pulls us into a world of love and loss right away, with Respighi’s beautiful and heartbreaking “Il Tramonto.” From that burnished world, Lutosławski’s Musique Funèbre draws us further into the darkness of grief and rage. Vaughan Williams’ Tallis Fantasia waits for us on the other side of it all, quietly linking the human and the divine.
Program Update:
It is with regrets that Susan Graham, mezzo-soprano, is unable to join us on stage for Respighi’s “Il Tramonto” as planned due to a family emergency. Our hearts go out to Ms. Graham during this difficult time, and we look forward to continuing conversations about a hopeful future appearance. We are thrilled to feature Grammy-winning mezzo-soprano Krista River in Ms. Graham’s absence, and are grateful to Ms. River for stepping in and sharing her artistry on such short notice.

Ticket Policies
All ticket sales are final and we do not issue refunds. We will gladly exchange your tickets to another concert of the same value within a given season. All exchanges must be made 48 hours in advance of the concert for which you are exchanging tickets. You may also donate your tickets for a tax deductible donation. Patrons requiring handicap accessible seating should call (617) 553-4887. Platform seating for Jordan Hall may not be arranged online. Day-of inquiries for Jordan Hall concerts should be directed to the Jordan Hall Box Office at (617) 585-1260.
