Christopher Reuning is a longtime fan of A Far Cry and is honored to support the group as a new board member. Chris is the owner of Reuning & Son Violins in Boston's Back Bay, an internationally recognized dealer of fine antique violins, violas and cellos. Chris grew up in a musical family in Ithaca, New York, where he began playing cello at age 7. He became a violin-making apprentice at age 12 and also developed a keen interest in the study and identification of old violins. While he was still in high school, Chris and his parents established Reuning & Son Violins in Ithaca. At age 24, Chris purchased the family business and relocated to Boston in 1994. Chris lives in Brookline with his wife, Min Kim, and their son, Nikolas, who is himself a budding cellist. Chris is also the father of two older daughters, Gretchen and Monica, of whom, despite their being wind players, he is exceedingly proud.
